asflksjf;aksj;flkajsdk OMG. You're too good at this. Hope I can learn realistic painting someday..orz
It'll be great if you do more tutorials. Hope I can master realistic painting someday. (or semi-realistic is fine)
By the way, is this used in PS or Sai or something else? Also, which brushes do you use? ^^;

Thank you very much! ; v ;
I don't have much time in my hands nowadays, but during vacation I'll try making a skin tutorial : >
This tutorial is for SAI, I have another for PS in my gallery.
I used the default simple round brush for this u v u

I've been looking through your gallery and I have a question about your painting technique. There are a lot of areas on your portraits' hair that are blended gradually into other colors or shades, but I can't tell how you did them (like places where a single lock of hair blends to a lighter/darker shade). Do you use a blending brush after you get everything down, or do you use a fade property on the brush itself as you paint? Or is it something else?

I think you have that question because I'm guessing that the drawings you've been looking at are the more recent ones right? This tutorial is about the technique I used when I did my paintings on PS, using only the default round brush and a bit of the blur tool.
Nowadays, (from this piece onwards [link]) I only use SAI to paint, and its default brush tool has these properties that you're asking about.

I'll be uploading a SAI tutorial on how I do hair reaaally soon in case you're interested : >

I see, that makes sense...
I knew it was a good thing I'm watching your account. I'll be looking forward to the tutorial, although I don't have SAI. I'm sure there'll be a way to adapt it somewhat to Painter or Photoshop. ^^
